Market Close 28 August 19: Mining & tech stocks help lift ASX for second day of gains

Buyers are cautiously returning to the market with the ASX 200 lifting for a second successive day. The benchmark index rose 29 points or 0.45% to 6500 on strength in resource and IT stocks. Those gains helped to counter losses for the major banks and Telstra (TLS) as it traded ex-dividend.
