Feasts of the Old Testament (11) - Feast of Tabernacles

5/12/21 - The Feast of Tabernacles consisted of Israel dwelling in booths for 7 days, remembering God's provision for them in the wilderness. In this we can see a few pictures of New Testament truths. First, the great price Christ payed for us, being tabernacled with us in the flesh for the suffering of death. Second, the temporary nature of the sufferings of this life for those trusting in Christ, and finally, God dwelling with man in the body through the Holy Spirit.

God gave many prophecies, types and shadows in the Old Testament of the future work His son Christ Jesus, many of which are hidden in the feasts and ceremonies given unto Israel. We pray the Lord Jesus be clearly seen as we study through seven of the Old Testament feasts. How marvelous it is to see our Savior pictured so clearly hundreds of years before His advent!
