Almighty, eternal and merciful God,
whose Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,
open and illuminate our minds,
that we may purely and perfectly
understand Your Word
and that our lives may be conformed
to what we have rightly understood,
that in nothing we may be displeasing
to Your majesty,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
