Unpacking Family Dysfunction - and the impact it has on children

In this episode, I discuss the topic of growing up in a dysfunctional family and explore the various forms this can take, impacting both childhood and adult life. Some of the more severe include addiction, abuse, neglect, mental disorders, and abandonment. These dysfunctions can significantly affect a child's development. As a psychologist, I aim to deepen the understanding of family dysfunction and its impact on individuals. In the latter part of the video, I focus on healing and recovery. I lead a guided hypnosis session designed to mitigate the effects of familial dysfunction. This involves visualising a staircase leading to deeper relaxation and creating a nurturing environment for one's inner child. The goal is to provide the care, love, and support that may have been missing, thereby helping to heal past wounds.
