SMPTE Media Technology Conference
Cutting-edge advancements in AI and 3D reconstruction are transforming media accessibility and content creation. In this session, two experts will present their latest research in these rapidly evolving fields.
First, Adrienne Deganutti, Machine Learning PhD Researcher, will explore how machine learning is revolutionizing long-term audio description generation for media and broadcasting. She will discuss the importance of automation in improving accessibility for visually impaired audiences, how the technology works, and where it is headed in the future.
Next, Dr. Anil Bas, Research Fellow at Bournemouth University, will introduce Gaussian Splatting, a state-of-the-art development in 3D reconstruction. He will break down its key principles, showcase its applications—particularly in 3D mesh extraction—and highlight open challenges and future research directions.
