8.31.14 // Connecting with People Pt 2

We really can enjoy life and find purpose when we havea strong connection with God and people. Jesus sets an incredible example for us to follow in John 4. In this Scripture the Lord teaches us how to connect and strengthen our connections with other people. As long as we are in the world, there is someone that needs us. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to draw us closer to God and those He wants us to connect with. 

Reaching out in love is a risk. But, it is a risk worth taking.

Opener: Who was your first best friend? What did you like about them?

Discussion Questions:

1. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to the woman at the well. 

How have you been led by the Lord to connect with people? 

What have been the results? 

2. How do you find the courage to leave your “comfort zone” and walk across the room into the “zone of the unknown?”

3. Jesus asked for a drink of water to establish common ground. What are some of your interests that you think God could use to connect you with others? 

4. Verse 9 shows Jesus knocking down the barriers of gender, race and religion to make a connection. How can we build bridges in our church instead of putting up barriers?

5. Jesus uncovered three key needs while he connected with the woman at the well. How has the Lord used you to help others with their needs?

6. What are some blessings you have seen as a result of
