MEP condemns “further militarisation” of EU – Boylan

The Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan says a proposed EU initiative will lead to the further militarisation of Europe. The European Parliament this week voted on EU plans to establish what’s called the European Defence Industrial Development Programme. The European Commission says the aim of the programme is to support the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the EU defence industry. However, Lynn Boylan says it will prop up the arms business.
