Saint Catherine, please come back. We really do need you right now!  Saint Catherine brought the Papacy out of secular bondage in Avignon, negotiated peace treaties, and advised secular and religious leaders. She wielded the her superb intellect, luminous personality, and spiritual union with God with such power and grace that she became one of the most influential persons of her time. She did this in the midst of the Black Plague, worst health disaster in European history, the Hundred Years War, and a Catholic Church that had been weakened by scandals in a parallel to today’s problems.
