Have you ever been through a long, drawn-out transition? A period of waiting when you don't know if life is going to turn out like you thought it would? From the time David was anointed to be the future king, until the time he was actually promoted to this position, there was a period of about 15 years. Saul’s jealousy kept David running for his life and hiding in the wilderness during part of that time, however, the Lord used the wilderness season to prepare David for his future role.

Wilderness life is not a vacation for most people, but it does provide some "quiet" time to reflect, soul search and think through priorities. In Psalm 63, we get a glimpse into David's experience, and as we pray through these verses, we get to do some soul searching of our own from the comfort of home!
