Gosho-P4- Letter to Horen

Nichiren closes this letter with a comparison of two types of people; those who are ignorant of the Lotus Sutra and/or Buddhism and yet speak against it, and those who are familiar and practice Buddhist teachings and the Lotus Sutra, but then turn their backs on the Lotus Sutra. The differing nature of their causes is commensurate with their life condition of ignorance versus their understanding of the teachings themselves.
