Dr. Shamini Jain is a scientist, psychologist, and author deeply rooted in both ancient wisdom and modern science. Born into an East Indian Jain household, Shamini's early exposure to Jain spiritual teachings ignited a lifelong fascination with healing.
Driven by a quest to understand healing through the lens of science, Shamini pursued extensive academic studies at Columbia University, UC San Diego, and UCLA, specializing in neurophysiology and psychoneuroimmunology. Her research, including randomized clinical trials, explores the intersection of meditation, hands-on healing, and integrative medicine practices.
Drawing from her experiences as a clinical psychologist working with diverse populations, including veterans with PTSD and individuals facing mental illness, Shamini emphasizes the immense power within each of us for self-healing. Recognizing the global healing crisis, she advocates for reclaiming our innate healing abilities.
In her mission to bridge ancient wisdom with modern science, Shamini authored a groundbreaking book at the request of Sounds True founder Tami Simon. Through her work with the Consciousness and Healing Initiative, Shamini seeks to mainstream ancient healing techniques while demystifying the science behind them.
