Home is not only a real thing but so much more because some might say it is everything. It is the safe place, the foundation, the retreat from the ‘too much’ of life. It provides us with a sense of belonging to a place, and the people, and it replenishes our energy. (At least it’s what we hope for and imagine it should be.)
What makes anything a home? Is it the feeling, the concreteness and geography of it, and why do we unknowingly search for more of it throughout our entire lives?
Beyond that, if the heart has everything to say about where it is, then how do you create it in your external world? And, how does the psyche register pieces of home when it isn’t there?
Home is an element of life that can be seen and talked about from many angles. People, places, experiences, feelings, and the senses are all essential for creating this deep and penetrating sense of connection. During the show this week, Sam will illuminate how we identify and empower our needs through this concept of ‘home’.
We will explore how ‘home’ offers a way to: know that we are connected, embrace that we are familiar and included, walk with a sense of oneness and in community with others, and rest in knowing we are safe and comfortable within.
We’ll also spend some time looking at how a home can constrain us from the adventure that awaits beyond the front door.
