This month, our Patreon patrons voted to learn more about the death of Nex Benedict, a 16-year-old nonbinary, gender fluid student who suddenly died the day after an altercation in their high school’s bathroom. Their story has quickly captured the attention of the nation, prompting an ongoing investigation into the Owassa, OK public school district by the Department of Justice and sparking discourse on the widespread ramifications of anti-LGBTQ+ laws and rhetoric on today’s youth.
