Patanjali offers this practice: “When your mind is distracted or disturbed, meditate on whatever you like.” Yoga Sutras 1.39 Gurudevi explains that Patanjali means to meditate on something that uplifts you and quiets your mind. Yoga recommends that you actively intervene in your mind’s tendency to wander. When you stop chasing things in the world, you experience who you already are. Steer your mind toward something that brings it to stillness, and you will experience your inherent nature is bliss and Consciousness. Even a little bit of meditation works. Just do it!
