Chantal Leonhardt, on opening an art studio at 20 years old | U&U Podcast S1 E3

Chantal Leondhart is a watercolour and illustration artist from Kangaroo Island. At just 20 years old, she opened her own studio art gallery, Bloom By The Ocean. In conjunction with selling her art, calendars and prints, Chantal also runs workshops and art courses in her studio. Chantal brings the Kangaroo Island community a fresh, young voice in the local art scene, and provides opportunities for young people to express their creativity. I’m so excited to interview an artist who is building their career regionally - in the place where I myself also grew up. What are the challenges of being a rural creative and what can we as creatives learn from someone like Chantal who has fearlessly shown herself as a self-starter not afraid to reach for the stars.
