Market Close 7 Sep 18: Local shares rally late but still closes lower for a seventh session

Local shares finished weaker for a seventh session despite a late rally on Friday. The ASX 200 closed down 16 points or 0.3% but was down nearly 50 points at its worst levels. It was also the worst weekly performance since early February this year.
