In this episode, I share about my biggest test in surrender. While my son was embarking on a new adventure through a trip to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota, it was an opportunity for this Momma to go through a test in surrender.

Surrender is about building the trust muscle and letting go of control. Yikes! That can be scary in and of itself!

This episode was recorded on 3 different days over the course of my son’s trip.

One of my biggest needs is to be and feel safe. That comes from the feminine energy. Of course, I want to do anything I can to keep my kids safe, yet I have to remember that the masculine energy (which my boys are full of), like to live on the edge. The masculine energy loves to take risks.

Enter the fear that comes up with surrender. Not being safe is unsettling for me. Yet one thing I’ve consciously worked on is not having my fears be my sons’ fears when raising them.

The experiences that are happening to our children are reflecting back to us the work that we need to do.

Keep in mind that surrender is not giving up. Surrender is about letting go. It’s moving beyond the ego. The ego is noise that likes to fill our head with disempowering thoughts. It is important to be aware of those thoughts so that we can stop them and not going into the abyss with no return.
