THE PROMISE OF CHRISTMAS: GOD IS WITH US! (MATT. 1:23)

In Scripture, the prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah, ascribe to Him many names. These names revealed His character, who He is and what He is like. Matthew 1:23 actually quotes Isaiah 7:14, they “shall call his name Emmanuel,” showing that Jesus is the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy.

Although people did not go around calling Jesus “Emmanuel,” it was a revelation of who Jesus is. He is God with us! This is the promise of Christmas – Emmanuel! So today, we want to consider what Emmanuel means for us.
