Appointing an EU Finance Minister would break a red line, that is according to MEP Brian Hayes.
Economic and Monetary Union reform is set to be discussed at a meeting of European leaders later this month.
MEPs, meeting in Strasbourg, have been outlining their concerns ahead of that meeting.
Fine Gael MEP for Dublin, Brian Hayes, is calling for a proposal for an EU Finance Minister to be dropped.
