MEP Brian Hayes Calls on European Leaders to Drop Plans to Appoint an EU Finance Minister

Appointing an EU Finance Minister would break a red line, that is according to MEP Brian Hayes. 

Economic and Monetary Union reform is set to be discussed at a meeting of European leaders later this month. 

MEPs, meeting in Strasbourg, have been outlining their concerns ahead of that meeting. 

Fine Gael MEP for Dublin, Brian Hayes, is calling for a proposal for an EU Finance Minister to be dropped. 

He outlines some of the decisions that could be taken out of Member States' hands, in the event a Minister is appointed:
