Women's Body Building started growing in popularity in the late 1970s, but organized competitions to compare true "female muscularity" are still in their infancy. One of the most prestigious of those titles is Ms. Olympia -- for the highest-ranking female body builder in the world. Detroiter Andrea Shaw, the 2020 Ms. Olympia, didn't get into power lifting until college. Today, she is not only a champion, she is a sought-after personal trainer and an evangelist for women building confidence and health, as well as strength, through fitness.
