The dirty little secret is… that if a Latin govt were to have had a general shutdown no one would notice, except for the fact that the traffic will most probably flow much better and faster.

#3- The problem with bringing simple power tools (like your B&D cordless drill) down to Latin America:

Its a big problem- if you don’t know the TSA and Airline rules about carrying common rechargeable Lithium ion batteries (like in your electric toothbrush or vibrator or drill) TSA will likely take the big expensive stuff from you at the airport and you’ll never see it again.
