Shark Attack: a true trauma Story -Brett Connellan & Maddison Stewart

For Brett Connellan, every surfer’s worst nightmare became his reality when he was attacked by a Great White Shark. On this episode of ED Jam, Brett shares his trauma story and how he turned one of the worst days of his life into positive things. I also speak with Shark conservationist Maddison Stewart (aka Shark girl) to discuss some common issues about shark safety and how these 'last dinosaurs' are often misunderstood. Trauma case manager Kate Mann also recalls what she witnessed on the day Brett was airlifted to a major trauma Hospital and describes some key aspects of his medical treatment and care.

Maddison Stewart 

Madison Stewart is a famous Film Producer, who was born on September 30, 1993 in Australia. Nicknamed Shark Girl, she is a nautical videographer and filmmaker behind underwater films advocating for the protection and conservation of sharks. Her films became the subject of the Smithsonian channel documentary Shark Girl.
