Richard Curtis

Although his name might not be immediately recognized by most moviegoers, it's a sure thing that they have seen the films with which Richard Curtis has been associated. In this podcast episode, HCC film professors Marie Westhaver and Mike Giuliano discuss a multi-talented screenwriter, producer and director who has made a name for himself within the British film industry. His skillfully constructed screenplays include "Four Weddings and a Funeral" (1994), "Bean" (1997), "Notting Hill" (1999), "Bridget Jones' Diary" (2001), and "Love Actually" (2003). Another reason for his consistent success is that Curtis often works with the same actors, among them Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson and Emma Thompson. These romantic comedies proved to be popular on both sides of the pond, and they're always good for a laugh.
