Mid-Session 5 Dec 16: Local market slips amid political uncertainty

The ASX 200 is down 0.8% amid political uncertainty. Italy’s Prime Minister resigned after being defeated in the country's constitutional referendum, while New Zealand’s PM has also stepped down this morning.
