Mid-Session 12 Jul 18: Energy stocks drop after 5% plunge in oil prices

The Australian sharemarket is recovering some recent losses, thanks to rebound in the financial sector. However energy stocks have come under heavy selling pressure following a 5% plunge in global oil prices overnight - the biggest one-day fall in two years.
