You've probably heard of carpe diem: Seize the day! But what if we spend so much of our time seizing that we forget to also receive, especially when it comes to God's abundant gifts of love and life. Perhaps a different way to think is to sume diem: Receive the day. God desires to give. Our first response is to receive. That enables us to also give, as well.
