THE FINAL COMING OF THE LORD JESUS WILL DISPLAY GOD'S GLORY AND AUTHENTICATE THE TRUE MEANING OF LIFE.
I. WHAT WILL THE FINAL COMING OF CHRIST BE LIKE?
- Peter labels it "The Day of the Lord"
- It will be unexpected
- It will be catastrophic
- It will be a time of judgment
+ God's glory displayed
+ God's enemies destroyed
+ God's people saved

- It will usher in a new eternal order
+ New Heavens
+ New earth

II. HOW SHOULD WE VIEW THE LORD'S FINAL COMING?
- For those who trust Christ
+ It should motivate spiritual maturity
+ With great excitement and longing

- For those who do not trust Christ
+ With terror...turn to CHRIST
