US Close 19 Nov 18: Shares firmer on US-China trade hopes

The US sharemarket edged higher on Friday in what was a challenging week for American equities. President Trump said he may not have to impose additional tariffs on China helped. However at the conclusion of the APEC summit on Sunday, Vice President Mike Pence made comments suggesting a trade deal is far from certain over the short term. Investors will have a chance to react on Monday.
