Le’Nise Brothers honours Billie Holiday
Today’s contribution to the Three Sixty Conversations Black History Month take over comes from Le’Nise Brothers as she honours the wonder that was Billie Holiday.
Le’Nise shares how a school trip with $10 just waiting to be spent led her to Lady Day. Le’Nise talks about Billie’s life which was characterised by trauma and also the radical act of living on your own terms which was woven throughout Billie’s adult life. She also asks a powerful wellness question that had me whipping my journal out!
