Today there are standards that we, as disciples of Jesus, are called to live by…
Jesus said:
Matthew 22:37-40 “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
These two commandments:
The Greatest Commandment to love God with your whole being
The Great Commandment to love your neighbour as you love yourself
These two commandments summarize the Ten Commandments
The Moral law
The standards by which we are to live
The way we are to design our lifestyle
The issues that determine our thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
These two commandments summarize all of the Ten Commandments
The two positive commandments bring together the 8 negative and two positive commandments of the Ten Commandments
The two commandments are the moral standards by which we are to live as disciples
