EP 128 | Screw International Women’s Day!

Did the title of today’s episode trigger you? Good, that’s the point. I’m here to shake things up today.

 

In all honesty, over the years, I’ve celebrated and made the annual International Women’s Day posts. I even spoke at an event to commemorate the day in 2020. 

 

The earmarked day has been around since the early 1900’s. And I’d argue that while women’s rights have increased, the battle isn’t over.

 

With that in mind, I decided it was time to take a stance and on Friday, March 8th, 2024, I shared a message that has received incredible amounts of support.

 

In order to do so, I felt like it was time to pull off the bandaid and go against the grain. 

 

Because while much progress has been made, there is still so much to do AND my belief is that we as women shouldn’t get a day or month of celebration.

 

Our existence is daily and so is our effort and our contributions.
