The first of two lectures on the subject ”What is Man?” and relating to Professor Andrews’ 2018 book ”What is Man? Adam, alien or ape?”

Is Man an accident? Many claim that Man is an accident of cosmology (providing a life-supporting planet), of chemistry (causing the origin of life), and of evolution ( causing Man to arise from a common ancestor shared with the great apes). This lecture offers a brief critique of these ideas and finds them wanting. The lecture is based on the book "What is Man? Adam, alien or ape?"
