The European Parliament has today voted for a draft resolution that lays out the Parliament’s position on a possible framework for future EU-UK relations post Brexit. Ireland is mentioned several times in the document. It specifically refers to preserving the Good Friday Agreement in all its parts. And it stresses that the UK keep to its commitments to ensure there is no hardening of the border on the island of Ireland. The Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness explains the significance of today’s vote.
