Market Close 7 Jan 20: Aussie shares recorded the best day in 3 weeks

The local market benefited from the positive lead provided by Wall St, as investors came to terms with continuing tensions between the US, Iran and Iraq. Every sector closed in positive territory today. Only Materials flirted with negative territory, weighed down by a drop in gold stocks as investors moved away from safe haven stocks.
