The world needs to start on a "pathway" to banning nuclear weapons – that’s the call from MEP, Barry Andrews. The countries signed up to the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons are due to meet for the first time next month. Ireland was one of the founding signatories. Barry Andrews is disappointed that the EU will not be attending. The war in Ukraine has brought back the shadow of a nuclear threat to Europe. Barry Andrews says it is high time we started on the road to ridding the world of nuclear weapons.
