Chapter 17: To Stand before You and to Serve

There are two duties that define the priestly ministry in the Old Testament: to stand in His presence and serve. In Deutoronomy, the Life of the priest indicates a life in God´s presence. The eucharist is the center of priestly Life. Standing is an expression of vigilance. To serve means closeness, familiarity. This can be a danger because the sacred could become habitual for us.
