Green Party MEP Ciaran Cuffe says EU proposals to deal with the rising costs of energy don’t go far enough and are a “missed opportunity”.
The Dublin MEP voted against a European Parliament resolution to ease the pressure of rapidly rising energy prices on European households and businesses. The resolution calls for a range of measures to deal with the energy crisis including better protection of vulnerable consumers and an immediate and full embargo on oil, coal, nuclear fuel and gas from Russia.
The Dublin MEP spoke to EuroParlRadio’s Karen Coleman in the European Parliament in Strasbourg about the resolution and why he voted against it.
