Thursday of the 12th Week in Ordinary Time

         Jesusteaches that we must have our foundation on the rock of His words and of Peter.“Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”“Then I will declare to them solemnly ‘I never knew you. Depart from me youevildoers.’ Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them willbe like a wise man who built his house on rock.”

            Fr.O’Mullane preaches the importance of being known by God, and of knowing Him.Only after that are we able to hear the Word of God and act on it. Otherwise,the foundation is faulty, and the Lord will declare solemnly “I never knewyou.” We cannot earn anything from God, but, if we have our foundation in Him,we will be filled to overflowing with His Life and His Love.
