God’s people were ruled by a king who looked the part of royalty but lacked the conviction to be an effective king.  It was a tumultuous time and the people needed strong leadership – God provided a replacement.  This is a story about rejection, fear, jealousy, anger, and betrayal.  But it is also the story of faith, hope, bravery, friendship, and devotion.
