AM Report 14 Aug 18: Global markets still under Lira pressure

US sharemarkets fell on Monday with investors watchful on contagion effects flowing from the Turkish economic crisis. Banks fell the most, generally between 0.5-1.6%. Shares in Tesla rose by 0.3% after Elon Musk revealed that he was in talks with potential backers to take the car-maker private. The Dow Jones index fell by 125 points or 0.5% after being down 159 points during the session. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.4% and the Nasdaq lost 19 points or 0.3%.
