She was a trailblazer in helping to create the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) with Billie Jean King. In her illustrious career, she won 18 Grand Slam tournament singles titles, 157 WTA singles tournaments, 32 doubles tournaments and had a career singles winning percentage of 90% (the highest win% in tennis history). She competed in the most Grand Slam Finals of any player in tennis history (34). She also served as president of the WTA and continues to be heavily involved in the sport as a prolific analyst for ESPN and chair of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Foundation Board of Directors. She also runs the Evert Tennis Academy (in Boca Raton, Florida) and does impeccable charity through her Chris Evert Charities (www.chrisevert.org/charities/) organization.
