Happy Juneteenth! Two weeks ago, my friend James Robinson reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in sitting down and talking about racism in light of the recent murder of George Floyd and the need for America to wake up to systemic racism. We had our conversation and I'm continuing with more. Today I am joined by award winning musician, Jackie Venson. Jackie put herself on the line last week and stood up for black musicians in Austin to get a fair shot at playing the popular music series, Blues On The Green. She was heard and given a shot at making her own all-black line-up. She wrote two op ed pieces for The Austin American-Statesman. Read them HERE. Jackie and I talk all about her week, her daily live streams under quarantine, what needs to change for us to do better and much more! I'm very proud of Jackie for being such a force for good and change. Enjoy!
