Mary shares the story of how Children’s Health Defense began, evolving out of the earlier World Mercury Project. That initiative fought to remove mercury from medical products, and while it took far too long, that mission was accomplished. But the work did not end there. Children’s Health Defense took on a broader scope, exposing the many toxic elements harming children today—whether from food, pesticides, environmental pollution, or electromagnetic radiation.
Her fight is also personal. Over 20 years ago, Mary’s young son experienced a severe adverse reaction that led to a diagnosis of autism. As a lawyer and an advocate, she made it her mission to investigate how such harm could occur without accountability. What she discovered was a system designed to shield those responsible from liability. The pharmaceutical industry, doctors, and government agencies operate under legal protections that remove their incentive to ensure safety or to admit when harm has occurred.
