You cannot betray the 6m who want to revoke Article 50 – Tusk

The President of the European Council has told MEPs it is unacceptable to resist the prospect of Britain participating in the EU elections in May if that's what it opts for.

Donald Tusk was speaking in the European Parliament this morning where MEPs debated the outcome of last week’s EU Summit.

Mr Tusk reiterated his views that the EU should be open to a long extension of Article 50 if the UK wants to rethink its Brexit strategy.
