A balancing act in a confusing world

I allowed people who had no idea of my heart and motives to give me their unsolicited opinions about my character without having proper discernment; then take it to heart as truth and, thereafter, proceed to beat myself up. I allowed people to coerce me into doing things that were on their agenda and clearly were not right for me.
