Vi tar upp filmen från 1981, tv-serien från 2018 och så klart förlagorna, alltså böckerna "Das Boot" och "Die Festung" av Lothar-Günther Buchheim. Dessutom tar vi upp Buchheims egna erfarenheter av att vistas på tyska ubåten U96 under andra världskriget.
