Morning Report 8 November 19: Stocks rise and fall on trade developments

US sharemarkets lifted to fresh record highs on Thursday on trade deal optimism. Trade bellwethers Caterpillar (+1.1%) and Boeing (+1.6%) were amongst the top performers. Chipmaker Qualcomm's shares rose by 7.1% after reporting a strong earnings result. Around an hour before the close of trade, the Dow Jones was up by around 208 points or 0.8%. The S&P500 lifted by 0.4%. The Nasdaq was up by around 33 points or 0.4%
