US Close 5 Nov 18: Apple led American stocks lower

US sharemarkets were held back by a slump from technology stocks following investors pushing Apple shares lower post quarterly earnings. Chevron and Exxon pushed higher thanks to better than expected results. This week is set to be a busy one for markets. The highlight will likely be the US mid-term elections which are likely to be a key test for the Trump Administration. The RBA meets tomorrow on Melbourne Cup day while both CBA and BHP hold annual meetings with investors.
