The WCC tournaments are this weekend, and they mean different things for WSU's men's and women's basketball teams. For the men, it's one last chance to put the bad taste of that no good, awful five-week stretch that tanked all the vibes around a good start. They played pretty decently in their final two games of the regular season, securing the WCC's No. 6 seed. And with the way the tournament is set up, they could win a game -- or two. For the women, it's entirely different: They have a legitimate shot to win the whole thing. That would mean winning another...

For the men, it's one last chance to put the bad taste of that no good, awful five-week stretch that tanked all the vibes around a good start. They played pretty decently in their final two games of the regular season, securing the WCC's No. 6 seed. And with the way the tournament is set up, they could win a game -- or two.

For the women, it's entirely different: They have a legitimate shot to win the whole thing. That would mean winning another showdown with Portland, but there are reasons to think that could break the Cougs' way in a third matchup.
