Treat marketing like an investment, not an expense
Be able to put into words (clearly) what your potential clients WANT and are trying to get closer to/away from
Find out what your potential clients and your competitors are reading, watching, and listening to, and use that information to create better advertising scripts
The thing that you want more than anything is an audience that wants a product that only you can give them right now. For example, if you owned a restaurant, the thing you need most are hungry people standing in front of you!
The point of marketing is the lifetime value of the customer. If you break even on the first sale and create a long-term relationship with the customer, you’re doing it right.
